Despite the rain, which accompanied the runners along the entire route, the Ontinyent University Campus hit the streets to participate in the 3rd edition of this university sporting event.

Nearly 300 people, including students from the degrees of Nursing, Business Administration and Management, Physical Activity and Sports Science, Preschool Education, Unisocietat, lecturers and staff of the campus, and the general public, walked through the streets of the capital of La Vall d'Albaida on Thursday 1 December.

The kick-off was at 11:00 a.m., at the gate of the campus. Present were the mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez; the councillor for Sports, Óscar Borrell; the acting director of the Ontinyent Campus, Pedro Pérez; the director of the Ontinyent Campus, José Cantó; the dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (FCAFE), Ferrán Calabuig; and the vice-dean of FCAFE, Pep Crespo.

With the intention of giving the race an open and participative character, two distances were established, participants could choose between running 2.5 km or 5 km. In addition, the race had a united purpose, as a food donation was required for registration.

At the end of the race, the Ontinyent Campus continued with the sports and leisure day. The university community took part in the entertainment activities, dances, raffles, gifts... promoting socialisation and healthy lifestyle habits, in short, a sports festival that not even the rain was able to dampen.
