The call for the 26th edition of the Public Art / Public University Exhibition is now open
The deadline for submitting a project to the Public Art / Public University Exhibition, an event that transforms the environment of the Universitat de València into a place of artistic intervention open to society, is open until 25 April. The twelve projects chosen will receive €2,000 each for their implementation and will be part of the Exhibition that will be held in October and November.
Visual artists of any age who are interested in creating an ephemeral, site-specific work for the Burjassot or Blasco Ibáñez campuses can submit their projects. The proposals must reflect on the approach of contemporary art to science and the social and human sciences and reflect the possibilities of contemporary art to address interdisciplinary content and generate synergies with the areas of study of the Universitat.
Each winning project will receive an endowment of 2,000 euros for its implementation and will be part of the 26th Public Art / Public University Exhibition, which will be held on the Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez campuses in October and November. In addition, the Universitat de València will publish a catalogue with the photographs of the projects.
The Exhibition is curated by Alba Braza, an expert in cultural projects and artistic mediation, who is part of the jury that will evaluate the projects together with Carlos Almela, researcher and cultural mediator, Teresa Millet, PhD in Art History and curator of the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), and Ester Alba, Vice-Principal for Culture and Society of the Universitat de València.
Briefing for artists
To clarify any possible doubts, there will be an online information session with the curator of the Public Art Exhibition, Alba Braza, on 22 March at 5:00 p.m. In addition, enquiries can also be made during the entire project submission period by writing to email@example.com.
The Public Art / Public University Exhibition is an initiative of the Student Council Branch of the Universitat de València, organised by the Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) with the collaboration of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society.
