Stevia, The Sweet Panacea?

Main objective
To critically approach the world of natural and/or artificial sweeteners, in particular stevia, beyond fashion and food advertising.
Content
Through the screening of audiovisuals, participants will learn about the progressive introduction, since the late middle ages, of natural and artificial sweeteners in the European diet. It will consider the factors (agronomic, strategic, economic, scientific, therapeutic, legal, industrial, etc.) that have contributed to the spread of these sweeteners everywhere.
The focus will be on stevia, a sweetener of natural origin, originating from the Guarani culture, whose consumption has now become widespread throughout the world. Various presentations of stevia will be tasted, in the form of an infusion or as an additive to food products (jams, chocolates).
