Presentation and colloquium by Laura García Andreu.
SYNOPSIS
Stéphane has just joined the anti-crime brigade in Montfermeil, an eastern suburb of Paris. There he meets his new colleagues, Chris and Gwada, two agents experienced in the big tensions that exist between the different organised groups for control of the neighbourhood.
Inspired by the 2005 rots, César-nominated director Ladj Ly, a member of the Kourtajmé collective, explores today’s ‘Montfermeil’, the same place Victor Hugo used as a set for the 1862 part of Les Misérables.
