Fields or areas of research Elementary particle physics, high energy physics and computing in high energy physics 

I graduated in Physics at the University of Valencia in 2007 and I obtained a master in Advanced Physics in 2008. I started my Ph.D. studies in the Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC) by the end of 2008. As a Ph.D. student I joined the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the ATLAS experiment. ATLAS is one of the detectors which record data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

In my thesis I introduced novel techniques to reconstruct and identify the properties of top quarks when they are produced with energies much bigger that their rest mass. I defended my Ph.D. by the end of 2013 and my thesis was distinguished with the Thesis Award by the University of Valencia.

In 2014 I started working as a postdoc at the University of Milan. There, I contributed to several aspects of photon physics in ATLAS including performance studies, precision measurements, and searches for evidence of exotic physics. I won a research fellow position in the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) in 2016, where I worked on searches for dark matter and the application of machine learning techniques at the LHC.

I moved to CERN the summer of 2019 hired by the University of Alberta. At CERN I divided my time between the production of simulated data for physics studies and the searches for new physics like quantum black holes or strings.

Since July 2020 I have been part of the Department of Atomic, Molecular and Nuclear Physics of the University of Valencia and the Institute of Corpuscular Physics - IFIC thanks to the GenT Plan. My project focuses on the study of the properties of the top quark and the search for new physics related to this quark.
