Máximo Cobos received the M.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering in 2006, and the Ph.D. in Telecommunications in 2009, both from the Universitat Politècnica de València. He worked on his thesis under the Faculty Training Program (FPU), obtaining the international mention and the national Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in multimedia environments from the National Association of Telecommunication Engineers (COIT). He continued his post-doctoral training at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) with the "Campus of Excellence" program, until he joined the Departament d'Informàtica at the Universitat de València, where he is currently an associate professor. His research lines focus on acoustic signal processing, machine learning, sensor networks and spatial audio. In addition to his academic work, he is an active member of several professional and scientific associations, being a member of the Board of the Association of Telecommunication Engineers of the Valencia Region (COITCV), 'senior member' of IEEE, 'full member' of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) and member of the Spanish Association for Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (AERFAI). In addition, he sits on various committees of international experts in his research field and serves as an associate editor for prestigious journals, such as IEEE Signal Processing Letters or EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech and Music Processing.
